Segment 1 Information:
To enroll in Segment I, the student must be at least 14 years and 8 months of age by the first day of class. They also must have written permission from a parent or guardian. The Segment 1 class consists of 24 hours of classroom and 6 hours behind the wheel training. The classroom will lead up to taking the State of Michigan Level 1 Learners License Written Test. The student will be required to achieve a 70% or higher on the Written test, and they must meet all standards set by the State of Michigan and Premier Driving during their behind the wheel portion of the class. When the student meets all the criteria, they will be given a level 1 graduated License which allows them to drive with any adult over the age of 21 who has a valid driver’s license.
Segment 2 Information :
The student must have successfully completed a Segment 1 class, and have taken his segment I permit to the Secretary of State to obtain his level I license. The must have had thier level I license for a minimu of 90 days and have logged 30 hours of behind the wheel driving, two of which have been night time drives. They must do this before enrolling into a Segment 2 class. Segment II class consists of 3 days of classroom instruction, 2 hours each day. The student must also pass a written test achieving a 70% or greater on the test.
